Gratitude Week 2: My DYK sistas

Some of the greatest girls that I have ever known have been there for me through some really tough times. I am grateful for their love and support. They sent me these flowers for a moving gift...you know, when whats his name moved out. You girls know who you are and you know how much I love you all. Thanks again.

Gratitude: Week 1

My friend Marie over at Lead Baby http://leadbaby.blogspot.com/ has started a 52 week gratitude journal. I love the idea so I am gonna be a copycat and steal it. I am starting a little late so I will have a 49 week gratitude journal. :)

I am grateful for my son. I am grateful for so many other things but Demitri is my number one. I promise that following weeks will not all be about him but this has been a hard week and this is what I am feeling. Two seconds before I took this photo Demitri walked up to me with the two flowers and said " look mama, roses!" I am grateful that I have a healthy and intelligent son who amazes me more every day.

L. Family, Party of Two

I am going to try and keep this short because I feel like I have spent the last week talking about nothing else. Six days ago Daddy L. moved out. I thought that our world had come to an end but we are doing surprisingly well. My little dude is the light of my life and I know that we are gonna get through this and I will be a better person. I would like to thank everyone of you who has listened to me complain and cry. I could not have done this without you.

Meet Firetruck

We rescued a two year old dog from the shelter and Demitri named her Firetruck. Yes, you read it correctly and I typed it correctly. Her name is Firetruck. I tried to talk Demitri into all of his favorite cartoon characters but he did not want a Dora, a Tasha or a Uniqua. Our dog is named Firetruck!

Firetruck is a spitfire. Already she is very loyal to me and Demitri and even my mom but if somebody else comes to the door or walks by her on the street, she is ready to attack. She has quite the little bark on her which she kept well hidden at the shelter.

Height Predictor

Find out how tall your child will be

Your boy will likely be 6 ft. 2 in. at age 18.

Learn More

Young men often continue to grow a little past 18 until they reach 21, but their height at age 18 is very close to their final adult height. This prediction is a "best guess" but it's still just that -- a guess. Based on the formula we used* there is a 50 percent chance that your boy's full-grown height will be within 0.8 inches (above or below) of this prediction, and a 90 percent chance that it will be within 2.1 inches.
THE FINE PRINT: Parents' heights are a good predictor of a child's adult height, but heredity only accounts for about 70 percent of what goes into deciding how tall someone will be. The other 30 percent comes from environmental factors, like eating habits (poor nutrition can "stunt" a child's growth) and exercise patterns (a competitive gymnast may not grow to her full potential).

Sometimes a child will surprise everyone and turn out much taller or shorter than either parent. This calculator can't account for that possibility. It also won't work well for children who 1) are exceptionally tall, 2) are already taller than both their parents, or 3) have a condition that affects their height, such as growth hormone deficiency.

*** I am really bad and can't remember where I did this or else I would tell y'all.
